In this crazy-making world there are a lot of coping mechanisms I have to employ in order to not go bugfuck insane. After all, the one room in my house that contains air-conditioning is also the room where Fox News tends to be on the television eight hours a day.
One of my favorite little brain exercises, though, is what I call Sanity Preserving Fallacies. These Fallacies are basically just amusing lies that I tell myself which help keep me from snapping due to the sheer ridiculousness of what I am forced to deal with.
e.g.: Bill O'Reilly? Is totes a rad fem ally. He was so awesomely rad fem that the conspiracy of the patriarchy was forced to kidnap him and BRAINWASH him so that he would not spread the message to anyone else. Currently, they CONTROL HIS MIND as he performs in his alter ego as a reactionary douchenozzle on the O'Reilly Factor.
I imagine Inner Bill listening to the horrid things that he is forced to say and screaming in horror. Later, he goes home and cries into his pillow, just like me.
Yeah, honestly, this all that gets me through the evening sometimes.
